Closure of borders and shopping centers
And in the new measures announced, the government has taken the decision to close the borders. Unless there is an overriding reason, any entry or exit to or from a country outside the European Union will be prohibited from midnight Sunday. For travelers coming from an EU country, a PCR test will be requested, with "the exception of border workers". Even if it was already in force for travelers in sea or air transport, this measure is extended to land transport (train, car).
Another major health measure, the closure of "non-food stores with surfaces exceeding 20,000 m2" from Sunday, announced Jean Castex. Clearly, shopping centers with shopping malls will be closed. It remains to be seen whether the food businesses housed there will remain open.
The government also advocates widespread teleworking, and controls over compliance with the curfew will be strengthened.
