By October 1, the fairytale park will transform for the Halloween season. Visitors will find the traditional pumpkins and halloween costumes, but not only… Arnaud Feredj, director at Disneyland Paris, reveals some surprises.
It’s the season long awaited by young and old: Halloween! The opportunity to shiver in the huge amusement park. On this occasion, our favorite heroes will dress in their scariest costumes to welcome us into the castle.
For the Halloween Disney Festival, several stars including Laurent Laffite, Guillaume Canet, Gilles Lellouche, singer Raphaël still Louane made their entry to discover the Halloween universe, but also the novelties of the park: Selfies spot, Magic shots, Dragon spitting fire or the Maleficent character who is now one of the big bad guys in the park. “The park is transformed to wear its most beautiful Halloween colors and the decorations will be in total immersion with the season. In total there will be 330 pumpkins, 56 lanterns, fairy lights, ghosts and skeletons, not to mention the scary music ”, says Arnaud Feredj, director at Disneyland since 2016.

For the lucky ones, it will also be possible to meet the iconic villains during an exclusive selfie spot. “Our visitors can take pictures with their own phone with our characters from the Disney universe and even the Star Wars universe, in selfie mode! The opportunity to shiver and have fun with our naughty friends ”, says Arnaud. “There will obviously be some bad guys who will be there to scare us. In particular, on the stage of the castle where various villains will take place in a setting of brambles. ”
Discover Maleficent in his dragon form!
For the first time at Disneyland, Maleficent will be present in its most frightening form. “Maleficent will be making fiery appearances in his iconic tank! In her dragon form, she will come and spit fire on our visitors on the castle road, from Main Street to Central Plaza ”, confides the director.
Don’t panic, Maleficent but also Captain Hook and the Evil Queen, will also be present in their original forms to take photos and find themselves in the selfie spots of the park. You can also find Mickey, Minnie, Stitch or Goofy in the park, dressed in their scary costumes.
We love halloween
Take advantage of Halloween Festival which will take place from October 1 to November 7, 2021 and do not forget to proclaim loud and clear the slogan “We love Halloween” with your favorite villains. For the most privileged, the famous Disney Halloween party will open its doors on October 31, until 2 a.m. A scary night in which visitors can dress up and spend an evening in the world of villains. It will be possible to do the flagship attractions of the park such as Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight or Pirates of the Caribbean during the night.
During this period, the hotels will be decorated for the occasion. The restaurants of the castle will also be in Halloween colors with some horrific menus, for example the Disney Villain’s Plate or a square of meat stuffed with pumpkin with trumpets of death and devil sauce. The menus will be inspired by the evil queen of Snow White with her dessert inspired by the famous poisoned apple.
After this terrifying period, Disneyland Paris will take on the air of fairy tales for the Christmas season which will begin on November 13!
