what awaits you on the highways in 2024, and how to avoid rising prices

If the government promised on Wednesday a moderate increase in the price of pages, less than 3%, this promise should have a cost for motorists in 2025.

What increase for motorists on the page this year? On Wednesday November 29, the Minister for Transport Clément Beaune assured that the French would not experience more than a 3% increase in 2024, after an average of 4.75% in 2023, a consequence of inflation.

Thus, according to a source cited by Capitalthe price of the page ticket will increase in 2024 by 2.71% for the concessionary companies of the Vinci group (ASF, Cofiroute and Escota), by 2.79% for Sanef, by 3.02% for APRR and 3.04% for AREA (Eiffage group) and 3.08% for SAPN.

While this moderate increase should provide relief to motorists for the coming year, discontent is growing among concession companies. Because the latter assured that they wanted to increase prices by at least 5%, then that a tax on motorway concessions is planned in the 2024 draft budget. More precisely, this tax on long-distance transport infrastructure would be used to finance the ecological transition. This tax is supposed to bring in 600 million euros per year from 2024.

Use telephony to lower your bill

On November 13, the deputy general director of Vinci and president of Vinci autoroutes, Pierre Coppey, described this tax as a bad idea which we contest and which we will contest by all means. The concession companies have therefore already warned: if the tax were to pass, prices could soar in 2025. According to Parisian, tariffs could then increase by 4.9% on the SAPN network (A13, A14, A29), by 5.8% on that of Cofiroute (A10, A11, A71), by 6% on the Sanef axes (A1 , A4…) or even 6.2% on those of APRR (A5, A6, A19, A39 etc.).

How then can we avoid seeing the bill increase too much? For motorists regularly making the same journey, taking out a telephony subscription can be a solution. Ulys offers for example discounts of up to 40% on the price of the page after 20 identical journeys in the month.
