What clothing to beat the countryside?

Everything depends on the stylistic party that one wishes to defend. Without diving into the literal homage to Elizabeth II, the Barbour Classic Bedale jacket is an unbeatable ally for campaign parties. She also likes to surround herself with certain rituals: dogs, uncertain weather and scrupulous maintenance. To keep it waterproof and flexible, invest in a small jar of Barbour Wax Thornproof (€20 for 200 ml) and wax it once a year.

Or bring it back to a brand store for re-waterproofing, billed at €59 and coupled with a waiting period of four to five weeks. Those bothered by the smell and feel of waxed cotton will associate their corduroy collar with a “workwear” look, inherited from a long American tradition inseparable from the Carhartt brand.

To avoid any crude comparison with its English rival, forget the olive color and opt for the blue OG Chore model (with quilted interior), or the Michigan Caramel (and its striped blanket-style lining). Its famous “canvas” (very tight cotton canvas) protects against the rain and softens as it ages. All that remains is to repair the fence.
