This year, we will therefore be able to meet 7 women aged 26 to 34 and 8 men aged 28 to 44. While they all have varied personalities and different reasons for participating in the program, they have one thing in common: the desire to find the right person with whom to build a new life together.

To do this, they are ready to get married without knowing the identity of their future husband or wife. They only know one thing: that the person they are going to marry is very compatible with them. Indeed, before reaching the marriage stage, they passed several tests as well as interviews with the two experts Gilbert Bou Jaoudé and Estelle Dossin so that a compatibility with someone else can be found for them. However, since marriage is not something to be taken lightly, the production makes the candidates sign a will before the D-Day.

Indeed, from season 1 to season 7, there are only two couples who are still together: Pauline and Damien from season 6, parents of little Valentina as well as Laura and Matthew from season 5, they are also parents of a little girl Lya and are expecting a second child. Indeed, Internet users were very disappointed to learn of the breakups of certain candidates to whom they had become attached. Among them, we find that of Élodie and Joachim from season 4 who separated 3 years after the marriage or that of Alicia and Bruno who left in May 2023 after two years of relationship.

But, so that there are no problems during the various divorces, the production has put things in place, in particular a will that the candidates must sign. It is written in it that if one of the two married people dies, the other will not benefit from their inheritance. Alicia had also talked about it on her Instagram account in 2023. “You should know that in Married at First Sight, as one marries a stranger, we separate property ! We sign a will, given that we are marrying someone we don’t know and we don’t know what could happen.” she confided before explaining: “I own an apartment and therefore I also have that to put in my taxes. This is why Bruno and I didn’t do the same taxes, even though I lived with him. Like all the (candidates), we separated our assets.”

In this sense, candidates can have a lawyer free of charge, paid by the production. Something which is not negligible since a divorce costs a certain amount of money. However, this is only valid if the separation takes place less than a year after filming.

But that’s not all: sessions with psychologists are offered if some candidates feel the need. Indeed, both marriage and divorce are not decisions to be taken lightly since the marriage remains registered in the family record book and in all administrative documents it will be stipulated “divorced”.
