Still popular, WhatsApp continues to diversify to offer the most complete user experience. As the platform works to develop support for third-party messaging services (thanks the Digital Market Act), four new features have just been spotted.

To begin with, Android Police announced good news on the privacy side on March 13, 2024: the impossibility of taking a screen capture of a profile photo. So, a person trying to carry out this manipulation ends up with an empty image as a reward. Some users instead see a simple informational message stating that it is impossible to take a screenshot of a profile photo due to app restrictions. According to the media, this new feature is being deployed on iOS and Android.

For big talkers, WhatsApp is working on a very useful filtering feature. While analyzing beta version 2.23.14.17 on Android, WABetaInfo noticed the presence of filters at the top of the app’s home screen. It offers three display options: all conversations (All), those with unread messages (Unread) or group conversations (Groups).

Previewed in beta 2.24.6.13 of WhatsApp on Android by WABetaInfo, the third new feature will delight users who constantly chat with the same people: the pinning of five chats at the very top of the conversation list, compared to three currently.

In addition to this, the media revealed that beta version 2.24.6.15 allowed up to three messages to be pinned to the top of a conversation. As a reminder, the functionality is currently limited to a pinned message. This one is not, however. ad vitam aeternambut during a period of 24 hours, seven days or 30 days, as desired.
