WhatsApp is increasing the number of messages you can pin, finally!


WhatsApp has just rolled out a change that many users were waiting for: you are no longer limited to a single message pinned to each of your conversations.

In an update that follows last year’s introduction of pinned posts, the platform now allows users to pin up to three messages per chatwhich is a significant increase from the previous limit of a single message.

This new feature is expected to transform the user experience, as it’s easier than ever to keep track of important information in individual chats or on your group conversations. Whether it’s a memorable text, an important image or even a survey, Users can now pin more messages without worrying about losing other crucial messages in the process.

You can now pin up to 3 messages

The value of pinned messages is obvious: no more frantically scrolling through messages to find the address of a birthday party or the time of a meeting. This is a subtle, yet powerful tool that is already available on most messaging apps. And now, the feature becomes even more useful with this even higher limit.

Pinning a post remains as easy as before. Simply long press on the desired message and select the “Pin” option from the top right menu. WhatsApp also introduced the ability to set the length of time a message is pinned: 24 hours, seven days (default) or even up to 30 days.

The good news is that in group discussions, the power dynamic remains unchanged, with administrators having the power to determine who can pin messages. This ensures that the feature is used responsibly and matches the preferences and needs of the group.

Once pinned, messages appear as easily accessible and clickable banners at the top of the chat window. Messages are therefore within reach, and do not disrupt the flow of the conversation. And in line with WhatsApp’s commitment to privacy, all pinned messages continue to be protected by the platform’s robust end-to-end encryption.
