WhatsApp: voice calls in a new design
In the developer version of WhatsApp for iOS, a new design for the voice calls within the messenger has appeared. There has been no functional change here and the buttons are all still in their usual place. So users don’t have to get used to it. It’s about a purely cosmetic update, which will be seen on both iOS and Android after completion (source: WABetaInfo).
In a direct comparison with the existing appearance, a few differences become clear. Overall, the new design works on iOS a bit more modern and also tidier. The background is now darker and a large rounded rectangle dominates the screen. In addition, the phone number and call duration are now displayed more prominently and centrally. The number appears in a light green. The profile picture can still be seen.
To the new interface of Voice calls with the Android variant of the messenger, no screenshots have appeared yet. WhatsApp is likely to say goodbye to the previous background here too. WhatsApp itself currently only knows what group calls are like. Allegedly, they should be made clearer in the future.
This is how the voice call works on WhatsApp:
When is the new WhatsApp design for calls coming?
It is still unclear when exactly the currently tested changes will also be made in WhatsApp final version of the messenger will accommodate. Since the new design has not even landed in the beta version of the app, it will take some time.
