  • WhatsApp introduces 107 new emojis to Android phones.
  • These are included in Messenger with version 2.22.8.79.
  • The meaning is not immediately apparent in every picture.

Messenger WhatsApp extends the Android version with new emojis. With the update to version 2.22.8.79, a total of 107 new images have been added to the app. The meaning of the smiley is not immediately obvious to everyone. We’ll tell you what pictures like the melting smiley are all about.

According to Emojipedia, with the melting smiley you can either indicate that you are extremely hot or you can use it metaphorically to express shame. The dashed face is meant to represent someone who is invisible or hiding.

The blue hand emoji with an eye is also called “Hamsa”. It occurs as a symbol in Islam and Buddhism, among others. There it represents luck, protection, guidance, feminine power and faith.

The meaning of the other new smileys, on the other hand, can be read directly from the symbols. For example, the face with the diagonal mouth is intended to express skepticism. With the saluting smiley you show respect to your counterpart and the emoji with the hand in front of the mouth expresses horror.

New features coming

The other new emojis are new hand gestures that are self-explanatory. There are also numerous additions to existing emojis – for example, there is now a pregnant man as well as a pregnant woman.

WhatsApp is currently not only introducing new emojis, but also many new features. Among other things, changes affect group calls.
