WhatsApp rolls out Communities feature to Android only for select users

Owners of Android smartphones, a new feature is currently being deployed on WhatsApp.

While we recently discovered that the Meta group was working on a message restoration feature, now the famous instant messaging application is continuing its momentum by offering more and more possibilities.

Communities are gradually coming to WhatsApp

Last April, we learned that the WhatsApp application would be equipped with a Communities feature. Its objective is to offer users several discussion centers within the same community. In other words, this will allow everyone to access a new “Communities” tab from which they can create up to 10 subgroups. Each of these subgroups can accommodate a total of 512 members.

A few weeks after its announcement, this feature has finally started its deployment, on Android devices at first. In fact, as told to us by XDA Developersit is the media WABetaInfo which informs us that versions 2.22.19.3 (beta) and 2.22.19.2 (stable) now display the “Communities” tab within WhatsApp, accessible instead of the “Camera” tab.

This is a new section that could prove to be very useful, especially for schools, which will then be able to allow their students to join the sub-groups corresponding to their class, for example. Note also that if you are led to leave a sub-group, you will not be excluded from the Community. Note also that the functionality unfortunately does not allow, for the moment at least, to hide his telephone number from the eyes of the various members.

Anyway, if this feature is already available to some Android users, for others it will however still have to wait a little longer. It is indeed being deployed and could well require a few more weeks before you see it appear in your home.
