At this rate, WhatsApp will soon no longer be recognizable. The famous instant messaging app has been constantly welcoming new features for many weeks. But here’s one that might be of particular interest to you…

Are you used to joining conversations on WhatsApp and participating in group calls? So, there is no doubt that this feature has been designed for you.

WhatsApp: group calls will now be more audible

You may have already found yourself in a group call in which there remains, in the background, a certain hubbub. Obviously, this is not pleasant and is not optimal for concentration. Well, good news, WhatsApp has found a solution to this problem.

From now on, when you make or join a group call on WhatsApp, you will be able to specifically mute one or more participants, in the event that the latter have omitted to do so themselves. To do this, simply click on the profiles concerned to display a contextual menu, with a mute option (as well as the possibility of sending a message to a member with ease). The information comes to us directly from Will Cathcart, head of WhatsApp, and was shared by the media The Verge.

This is a feature already known from videoconferencing software such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams which is now coming to WhatsApp. This will be enough to offer you a little respite during your noisiest calls.
