WhatsApp’s latest beta completely transforms the app on Android. The interface has indeed been reworked in depth, particularly at the level of the upper banner and the organization of conversations, in order to improve readability for the user. It is not yet known when this will be available.
WhatsApp is constantly changing the design of its application, sometimes on its desktop version, sometimes on the different interfaces of its mobile version. It is therefore not surprising to see it testing a brand new interface on its Android version, in its latest beta. In its version 2.23.13.16, the messaging thus displays a much more refined design, more spaced out, but above all much more readable, as you can see in the image above.
According to the WEBetaInfo site, which published the news, this new interface seems to be intended primarily for Android smartphones. One of the notable changes is at the level of the upper banner, which this time is entirely white, which makes it much better to highlight the logo of the application, now in green. The tabs, now on the lower part of the screen, allow you to quickly jump to any section using icons. We imagine that this design will adapt to the dark mode of the application.

Where these famous tabs used to be, there are now new labels, which sort your conversations according to their status: unread, personal, professional, and a final label which groups all your discussions. Here again, the objective is to save users time by offering to sort their messages directly to more easily find those that interest them.

Keep in mind that the design presented here is still subject to change before its deployment to the general public. Again at WABetaInfo, this should take place before the end of the year. But the spine should, in theory, remain unchanged, as WhatsApp’s goal is very clearly to gain clarity while freeing up space. We will keep you informed of the progress of the project.
