Whatsapp Beta offers new functionality under iOS 15

The year 2022 is still young and for the first time, Whatsapp is now delivering a new function for beta testers to try out. However, for the time being only in the Whatsapp beta for iOS and iOS 15 is also required because an API is used that is only available under iOS 15. As Wabetainfo reports, the new function is not yet available for all beta testers, but will only be activated gradually.

The innovation ensures that the profile picture of the relevant user or Whatsapp group is now also displayed in an iOS system notification from Whatsapp. Certainly a sensible improvement, because it allows you to see at a glance who you have received a WhatsApp message from. The function is available in the Whatsapp beta versions from 2.22.1.1 under iOS 15. It is expected that there will be a new beta version again soon, because the display of the profile picture is still buggy.
