Countries demand clarity from Scholz
From the middle of March next year, compulsory vaccinations for certain occupational groups will take effect. But already for February, Chancellor Scholz had announced a general compulsory vaccination. The federal states want to clarify this contradiction.
The heads of government of the federal states need clarification regarding the planned compulsory vaccination. The minister-presidents expect clarification from the new Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz of the SPD as to whether the planned mandatory vaccination should be postponed. According to information from ntv, there has not yet been a common demand for postponement of the compulsory vaccination.
In the Prime Minister’s Conference (MPK) inconsistencies in the related plans and announcements were discussed, it was said from country circles. In the draft for the new regulation of the Infection Protection Act, which the Bundestag and Bundesrat are to pass on this Friday, it is planned that a so-called facility-related vaccination obligation should be introduced by March 15, 2022.
This would affect employees in clinics, nursing homes, medical practices, emergency services or maternity facilities. According to information from ntv.de, the Union parliamentary group now also calls for mandatory vaccinations for teachers and carers in day-care centers.
At the same time, Scholz announced the general compulsory vaccination for February. This raises the question of whether the compulsory vaccination will be postponed. According to information from ntv, the federal government has not yet been able to respond because the responsible Federal Minister of Health, Karl Lauterbach, was not yet on the list of speakers.
