Guest on the show En aside this Monday, February 7, Marc Lavoine returned to the film saga The Heart of Men, and the “break” which resulted in the absence of Gérard Darmon in the third part. An absence that the singer still regrets today.
Marc Lavoine does not excel only in the field of song. He also has a successful acting career. The artist notably filmed in the three parts of the Heart of Men. A saga in which he notably gave the reply to Gerard Darmon, Bernard Campan and Jean-Pierre Darroussin. But after a spat with the director Marc Esposito, Gérard Darmon did not wish to take part in the last film. And it was finally Eric Elmosino who replaced him. “It was bullshit: blunders that I took badly, then badly taken again, I wrote things to him that didn’t please him, he wrote me things that didn’t please me… Then the gap widened. We talk about it in the film by the way: friendship is something to be consumed right away”explained Marc Esposito.

It’s a very strong idea from Marc Esposito. It’s the fifth and then Eric Elmosnino comes to join us”he confided, before returning to the absence of Gérard Darmon in the third opus: “I am also very sad about this break that there was in Le Coeur des hommes, because Le Coeur des hommes was broken, a little. But it does not matter. You see, when I see these four guys there… I love them. I find them really funny. They amuse me. They each have different origins, slightly different social classes. They are in love. They are complicated”.

Wanting to know more, Nathalie Lévy asked Marc Lavoine about the origin of this “break” between the two men. “When I see Gérard, it’s true that it pains me, because I like Gérard a lot, I like Marc a lot and then the three of us can’t work together anymore. So it’s a pity. We have done many things together. That’s life, that’s how it is. We were really happy together. We didn’t just make movies together, we lived together”regretted the singer.
