When suddenly the Shadow Hearts mark reappears

Impossible not to make the connection between this sudden trademark filing and the approach of the new PlayStation Plus formulas, the Premium level of which includes, as a reminder, some 340 games from the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP generations. Recent trademark registrations already allow us to bet on titles like Siphon Filter, Valkyrie Profile, Tekken 2, Ridge Racer 2 or Worms Armageddon.

But to hope for a sign of Shadow Hearts, trilogy released on PS2 between 2001 and 2005, you had to burn a big candle since the company that owns the brand stopped making video games a long time ago to devote itself to pachinko/ pachislot and other casino machines. There was a time when the one we called Aruze had nevertheless financed the Sacnoth studio (later renamed Nautilus) to whom we owe this RPG trilogy as little known as it is remarkable, in particular the second opus, the memorable Shadow Hearts Covenant, very rightly appreciated by Amaebi in his test of the time.

Founded by Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana), Sacnoth had started by developing the astonishing Koudelka on PS1, another role-playing game especially notable for its artistic qualities and which takes place in the same world as Shadow Hearts. The last time we had the opportunity to talk about Shadow Hearts was in January 2016, when an Italian site went to meet director Matsuzo Machida and illustrator Miyako Kato.
