When two British namesakes find themselves side by side on a flight to Bangkok

Two British passengers made a surprising discovery after boarding a flight to Thailand: identical name, same haircut and real similarities in life, they had just met their double.

Have you ever felt like you met your doppelganger? This is undoubtedly how two Britons must have felt, both passengers on a flight from London to Bangkok. This unusual anecdote, told by our British colleagues from Mirror, begins when Mark Garland, 58, a bus driver, arrives at London Heathrow Airport to board his plane. The airport staff then tells him that he is already registered.

After long minutes of incomprehension and discussion, an explanation is finally found: there are two Mark Garlands and they both planned to take this flight to Thailand. The height of irony was that the two Marks were positioned side by side on the plane. “We were so shocked at how strange it was, but we laughed a lot about it,” the bus driver said. But the similarities will not stop at similar identity alone.

“We could be brothers”

It turns out that the two namesakes both have shaved heads, have four children each, live about twenty kilometers from each other and even have an acquaintance in common. One of the two men is 62 years old, a mason by profession and has already taken the bus driven by the other Mark. Finally, they are also great fans of Thailand and have visited it many times.

“It’s crazy! What are the chances of something like this happening? I’m a little taller, but people say we could be brothers,” said Mark, a bus driver. The story is all the more beautiful because they became friends and promised to stay in touch. They even planned to have a drink together in Bangkok. “I made a friend for life,” said the older Mark.
