Invited to the program Les enfants de la télé, Frédéric Lopez returned to a particular memory shared with Mélissa Theuriau in Rendez-vous en terre unknown.
Frederic Lopez is back. At the head of a new show, A Sunday in the countrysidethe host wished to discuss this new program when he came to TV kids. The opportunity for him to return to the “hardest of all unknown lands”. Indeed, Frédéric Lopez begins to tell a terrible memory. It was in 2014 that he left with Mélissa Theuriau for Tanzania. The opportunity to discover local customs and in particular typical dishes. But now the two animators have to taste a broth prepared from goat guts and “and everything they could contain”.
A moment not necessarily very pleasant: “At one point, for real, we had smacks, we almost threw up. Even talking with Mélissa, when we meet, we have smacks”, he confides. A sequence which he prefers to laugh at now, he who has hundreds of memories. Indeed, Frédéric Lopez still presented Rendez-vous in unknown territory for fourteen years! Thus, when he left France 2 in 2018, the emotion was there for viewers.

He had justified his withdrawal from the show by the difficulty it represented for him. “I realized that this show was devastating. We go to people’s homes, they open their homes and their hearts to us, but it’s not natural to get so attached to someone and never see them again. At the beginning , I saw myself going back there and finally I admitted to myself that I wouldn’t make it”he explained to Figaro. Thus for four years, Frédéric Lopez was able to refocus on himself and his loved ones. But here he is back on France Télévisions much to the delight of his fans.
