The release of the new Joy-Con is scheduled for June 30, 2023. They are normally sold for € 89.99. The pair of Pastel Pink and Pastel Yellow Joy-Con controllers are available for pre-order on Amazon for €79.99. The pair of Pastel Purple and Pastel Green Joy-Con controllers is available for pre-order on Cdiscount for €79.99.
Why these new Joy-Con?
As a reminder, the Joy-Con are the controllers of the Nintendo Switch. These are detachable controllers that can be used in several ways. You can take one in each hand, in order to make frantic movements as much as your reach allows, and thus kick your cat as it passes in front of the TV. You can attach them to the Switch to form a portable console and use it in nomadic mode. Or you can bring them together on the support provided for this purpose, to make it the least design pad in the history of controllers.
However, as handy as Joy-Cons are, they suffer from a manufacturing flaw called Joy-Con Drift. Joy-Con Drift is an issue that primarily affects the top stick of the left Joy-Con. This one, when it is defective, sends itself commands to the console. Apart from giving you a good excuse to lose at Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, this flaw unfortunately makes most games unplayable. Nintendo recently agreed to take over the repair of defective Joy-Cons, but under certain conditions. Many people still find themselves without a left Joy-Con.
The new models of Joy-Con Pink and Pastel Yellow, and Purple and Pastel Green, are therefore an excellent opportunity to redo its range of Switch controllers, with moreover pastel colors of the most beautiful effect.
