Amazon’s Prime Video SVOD service has launched Rings of Powerthe highly anticipated series which takes place in the same universe as The Lord of the Rings. It will be broadcast at the rate of one episode per week, every Friday. To mark the event, the first two are broadcast on the same day, September 2. Here’s how to follow the serieswhich will have eight episodes in total.
At the end of the 90s, a small New Zealand director of series B decided to adapt the novels of JRR Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings. In 2001 comes out The Fellowship of the Ring, the first part of the trilogy, which is a huge success. The rest is film history. In 2017, Amazon bought the TV rights to Lord of the Ringswith the aim of making it a series for its Prime Video platform. Rings of Power, in question here, is not a sequel to the famous saga, but a prequel, which takes place a few thousand years before the adventures of Frodo and his companions.
Amazon continues to explore the world created by Tolkien, albeit with a certain freedom. Amazon’s rights are solely those of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. In order to create an original story that respects the source material, the showrunners of the series were inspired by the appendices and appendices of the books. Fortunately for them, Tolkien, generous in detail, gives a multitude of dates and events related to the time during which the series takes place. Thus, expect to witness the major episodes of the Second Age of Middle-earth. Where to watch The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power streaming in France?
Through the Amazon Prime Video platform
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. You will therefore have no choice but to take the Amazon Prime subscription. A single formula, at the price of €5.99 per month, or €49 per year, to enjoy the contents of the SVOD service for one year. Be aware, however, that from September 15, 2022, Amazon will increase the price of its subscription by 42%. The monthly price will increase to €6.99 per month, while the annual subscription will increase to €69.90.
This price increase also concerns student formulas, which will go from €3.49 per month (instead of €2.99) and €34.95 per year (instead of €24). Be aware, however, that Amazon offers you to test its SVOD service for free during a 30-day trial period.
Amazon Prime Video is an app that you can then easily install on your TV and connected devices, like your computer, smartphone or tablet, and even your console.
You can also go through the Fire TV Stick, Amazon’s multimedia key, at a price of 25 euros.
Through an ISP
Amazon Prime Video is available in France on many boxes. The rates are the same as if you went directly through the SVOD service. Internet service providers such as Free, and their offers Freebox Delta at €39.99 per month and Freebox Pop at €29.99 per month, Orange, and Bouygues offer you to pay, in addition to your internet subscription, the sum of 5.99 euros per month (€6.99 per month from September 15, 2022) to have access to the SVOD platform. Then all you have to do is go through your TV box provided by your internet operator and connect to Prime Video to watch The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power from your sofa.
