The first Flash trailer has been released. In it we see Sasha Calle’s Supergirl, which doesn’t look like the usual imagery.

Its interpretation, however, does not completely correspond to the usual iconography – as in the series Supergirl And Smallville.

To understand the role played by Sasha Calle, you have to rely on a key scene from the trailer, where she seems to be imprisoned and in bad shape.
However, this film is an adaptation of Flashpoint, a series of cult comics from DC, where Flash basically does anything with Time, trying to save his mother. He then finds himself on an alternate Earth where everything is different (Thomas Wayne is Batman, for example). Among the alterations, it turns out that Superman no longer exists to speak of: Kal-El has been imprisoned by the government and undergoes military testing.
It looks like the movie simply replaced Superman with Supergirl. In fact, this also means that she will be an ally of Flash to fight General Zod – we see her fighting him in a scene from the trailer.
It’s no big surprise that Sasha Calle’s character doesn’t fit the classic heroine image. James Gunn had warned that the film which will be dedicated to him, Woman of Tomorrowwill introduce “ a very different version of Supergirl “. So the role she plays in Flash is more or less the same.
Usually, Supergirl is depicted with long blonde hair instead (the costume could be a skirt or a jumpsuit). In the trailer, Sasha Calle has short brown hair, with a streak: this directly refers to a very specific alternate version, in the comics Injusticewhere it’s not Kara Zor-El, but Lara Lane-Kent.
