While overtaking – motorcyclist killed in collision in Seekirchen

A motorcyclist (49) died in a collision with a minibus in Seekirchen in Salzburg on Monday. The driver of the van was slightly injured. The crisis intervention team was on site.

The 49-year-old biker wanted to overtake a car on the Seekirchner Landesstraße (L238). He drove over the barrier line, swerved into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on into the oncoming car, driven by an 18-year-old. Both vehicles were thrown into the adjacent meadow due to the impact. The 18-year-old driver was slightly injured. He even tried to give first aid. The young man was taken to the trauma hospital. An alcohol test was negative. According to the police, the biker may have overlooked a vehicle when he attempted to overtake. The Flachgauer was thrown into the adjacent meadow. For him any help came too late. The accident occurred around 3 p.m.
