The French have their new beauty queen! Saturday December 16, TF1 once again broadcast the Miss France election for its 2024 edition. At the start of the competition, there were 30 competing for the title, with the hope of succeeding Indira Ampiot. But after the deliberations of the jury, exclusively female this year, and chaired by Sylvie Tellier, the list was reduced during the evening until the final choice: that ofEve Gilles, Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calaiswho was crowned Miss France 2024.
“Since I was little, I dreamed of participating in Miss France but I didn’t know when to start”had confided this young woman of 20 years old during her election as Miss Hersin-Coupigny 2023, the first step in her long journey to the national competition. Second year MIASHS degree student (Mathematics and Computer Science Applied to Human and Social Sciences), in Lille, with the aim of “work later in statistics”. “Yes, it’s a world very far from that of the misses. […] I only watched the Miss France election on television every year with my parents, and I only really became interested in this world from the moment I applied.”she confided to France Blue.

Eve Gilles, proud to be a Miss with short hair
Sparkling, the young woman from Quaëdypre, in Flanders, highlighted her personality a lot to achieve the title of Miss France 2024. And above all, she made her short haircut her signature asset during her adventure. “It’s one of my particularities! I am the first woman to run for Miss France with short hair, so obviously it can catch the eye and get people talking! Society evolves, the competition evolves with it. I’m the first with short hair, but I don’t think I’ll be the last.”she confided, from the height of her 70 meter height. She becomes the fourth Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais to be elected Miss France, after Camille Cerf in 2015, Iris Mittenaere in 2016 and Maëva Coucke in 2018.
