Thomas, a relative of Delphine and Cédric Jubillar, was for a time on the radar of investigators. The man with the troubled past almost became one of the main suspects.
The investigators comb all the entourage and the past of Delphine Jubillar, in order to understand how the young woman could have disappeared more than a year ago. If the number one suspect in the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar remains the latter’s husband, the gendarmes also suspected the intervention of other people who would have known Delphine. Among them, Thomas, a friend of the couple, aged 34. The investigations led to this track because the friend in question was cited by Cédric Jubillar during an interrogation with the gendarmes.
It turns out that Thomas is already known to the police and he is even registered with FIGAIS, the judicial file of perpetrators of sexual offenses. What’s more Paris Match, reveals in an article published on December 13 that even Thomas’s sister would have had doubts and would have denounced him.
Suspicious behavior against concrete alibi
These few pieces of information trigger an investigation into the Thomas question. It reveals a detail that challenges investigators. Thomas changed his sim card on December 16, 2020, the day after the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar. The clue is slight but this coincidence quickly becomes the beginning of the track.
However, Thomas is quickly cleared by his alibi. His partner proves that the night the nurse disappeared, he was at her side. For Cédric Jubillar’s lawyers, this lead has only been flown over, “The gendarmes did nothing but note. It is only declarative, checked in haste”, explains the defense to the magazine Paris Match.
For the moment Cédric Jubillar remains the first implicated in the disappearance of his wife Delphine. He has been remanded in custody since last June for “intentional homicide of a spouse” while waiting to find the truth in this affair. Séverine, the new companion of Cédric Jubillar also questioned and placed in custody for concealing a corpse. Investigators suspected Séverine of having helped Cédric to move Delphine’s body. The companion was finally released after 40 hours of interrogation, no charges were brought against her.
