Renate Muddemann takes on the chair from “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Place. At 83, she is the quiz show’s oldest candidate to date.

Günther Jauch (65) welcomed Renate Muddemann as a candidate for “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” On Monday evening (December 6th). The 83-year-old is the oldest participant in the quiz program to date, as RTL reported in advance. In a first clip in the Monday edition, Jauch explains that Muddemann tops the list for women, and that the oldest male candidate sat in the chair at the age of 86.

“Hollywood-style” story from real life

The candidate from Steinfurt in North Rhine-Westphalia is curious to see whether her mind is still so lively, but Jauch assures her that he is not worried. Because the 83-year-old chats cheerfully in the first few minutes and tells a “Hollywood-style” anecdote from her turbulent life. She is now divorced and previously ran a company with her second husband for 34 years. “Then he reunited with the warehouse clerk and I was standing outside,” says the pensioner. She didn’t notice that something was going on. “I’ve written a children’s book. When I have time, I’ll write a second, exactly about it.”
