The next folding smartphones from Samsung should in turn experience a price increase in 2023.
Inflation affects all sectors, and even that of the smartphone. We have thus learned in recent weeks that the most powerful top of the range of the new iPhone 15 series will see their prices increase, as will the competitors of the Google Pixel 8 series. At Samsung, we should follow the trend.
A small increase for the Z Flip 5…
The big event of the month will certainly be Samsung’s Unpacked conference, organized on July 26, during which we will be presented with the brand’s brand new folding smartphones. These phones have suffered numerous leaks in recent weeks, including the revelation of their technical sheets.
Today, thanks to information from Dealabs, these are the future prices of these machines that are revealed to us. As much to warn you, there is an increase for everyone:
- Galaxy Z Flip 5,256 GB at 1,199 euros (against 1,169 euros for the previous version);
- Galaxy Z Flip 5,512 GB at 1,339 euros (against 1,289 euros for the previous version).
… and a bill of almost 100 euros for the Z Fold 5
Price growth on the phone symbol of this event would thus be quite limited, not exceeding 50 euros for the most powerful model. A moderation that we will find less for the star phone Galaxy Z Fold 5, for which we will have to count on a more substantial increase:
- Galaxy Z Fold 5,256 GB at 1,899 euros (against 1,799 euros for the predecessor);
- Galaxy Z Fold 5,512 GB at 2,039 euros (against 1,919 euros for the predecessor);
- Galaxy Z Fold 5 1 TB at 2,279 euros (against 2,159 euros for the predecessor).
As we can see, Samsung should make you pay much more for the acquisition of its most powerful phone. The South Korean giant thus asks for 100 to 120 euros more depending on the model. Not enough to discourage the public?
