At Josip Drmic things are going like clockwork at the moment. The Swiss striker has become the most dangerous striker in the Croatian league at HNK Rijeka and is also causing a sensation with a new song.

“Why are you doing this to me?” is the name of the new song by star striker Josip Drmic.

  • Josip Drmic is perhaps in the shape of his life.

  • At HNK Rijeka, the 29-year-old scored 14 goals in the preliminary round.

  • If he continues to score consistently, he could make a return to the Swiss national team.

  • Next to the soccer field, Drmic is practicing as a singer and is now releasing his third song.

Certain media from the Balkans refer to Olivera Matijevic as the “Croatian Kim Kardashian”, who recorded a new song with Swiss striker Josip Drmic. The Turbofolk track entitled “zasto mi to radis” (Why are you doing this to me?) Is already the third song that the long-time Nati striker brings out (see video above). Before that, the Swiss rapper already rapped alongside the German rap stars Eko Fresh and Chekaa (“No tomorrow”).

Drmic announced the release of the song with Matijevic on his Instagram account and wrote underneath in Croatian that the song was an autobiographical message. The autotune track is about a woman turning his head. «You lure me during the day, you lure me at night, you play with my head, I only want your body. Swing your hips, show everything you have, let everything play tonight, let love dominate », it means translated.

“As many know, I’m someone who is open to everything, and especially when it comes to music, there are no limits. This time I’m in a completely different role, but I’m happy to be part of this project! ”Said the goalgetter proudly of his new hit.

“What an autotune comedy”

Colleagues from football, such as Nati defender Nico Elvedi, liked Drmic’s post, under which the comments were different. A Rijeka fan wrote based on Drmic’s hit rate: “Now 14 more goals and everything is good.” Another said: “What an autotune comedy, I don’t know who is poorer: this song here or a beetle and a trumpet.”

As is well known, one can argue about musical taste, but the famous goal balance of Drmic is undisputed. The 29-year-old has been thriving since moving from Norwich City to his second home country on loan last February. If he scored six goals in 16 league games in the last second half of the season, in the previous round of the current season there are even 14 goals in 17 games.

With this he leads the scorers list of the Croatian league and lets his club dream of the second championship title in the club’s history. After 20 games, Rijeka is level on points with NK Osijek and series champion Dinamo Zagreb in third place and thus has every chance of being crowned champion of Croatia for the first time since 2017.

Last time in 2019 at the national team

If Drmic performs as well as in recent months in 2022, the dream of returning to the national team could perhaps even come true for the former FCZ player. On October 12th, 2019, Drmic put on the red and white shirt for the last time in the 0: 1 defeat in the European Championship qualification against Denmark. Since then, he has not been called up by Vladimir Petkovic or his successor Murat Yakin for the national team.

The fact that Drmic is not the first choice in the storm center under Yakin is shown by the fact that he was not shown despite the injury-related absences of Haris Seferovic and Breel Embolo in the fall. Cedric Itten, Mario Gavranovic, Noah Okafor, Andi Zeqiri and Albian Ajeti were the last to be preferred to the Rijeka mercenary. But who knows, maybe Drmic will not only conquer the music charts, but also the favor of the national team coach and still make the leap into the World Cup squad.
