Friday the 13th, as is the case today, is a special date, which is considered lucky for some and unlucky for others.
The origin of this belief is religious, since it goes back to the crucifixion of Christ, which would have taken place on a Friday. Moreover, the day before, Jesus would have gathered his apostles at the Last Supper. They would have been thirteen at the table before Judas, recognizing that he was going to betray Jesus, left the room, reducing the number of guests to twelve.
Some have a panic fear of Friday the 13th, which is called “paraskevidekatriaphobia”.
But in the most optimistic superstitions, the association of the two data – Friday and the 13th – would cancel bad luck. This symbolic date has also been used for several decades by gambling companies for special jackpots, reinforcing the positive aspect.
