Why is Warzone less popular than before? The desillusion…

Call of Duty: Warzone … What a slap in the release of the Battle Royale of Raven Software in March 2020! Although our video game landscape already had several BRs, the Call of Duty community, of which I am a part, was eagerly awaiting the Activision version.

Remember, we were in the middle of a period of confinement, and it was very difficult to go out as we wanted. The cure for loneliness and depression? Good games of Warzone with friends! Storage and the famous swimming pool, the stadium, or even Farmland, most of the POIs in the city of Verdansk were really attractive and allowed us to really fight. Also, in its early days, we weren’t unlucky enough to come across all the cheaters we have today, in short, it was a good life.

Unfortunately, if the Battle Royale has deteriorated over the seasons, the latter received the fatal blow during the publication of Vanguard and its introduction last December.

Vanguard, the final blow that Warzone would have done without!

If Warzone was starting to lose flavor since the release of Black Ops Cold War, things seemed to be looking up when the introduction of the 84′ Iron Trials mode, and the players seemed present again. However, I did not find that a “flashback” was necessary… Even if this flashback made it possible to introduce changes in the map, they could perhaps have proceeded in another way, but this does not is only a detail really.

BUT… but but but… If everything went more or less well, the studios would have had to Activision and Sledgehammer Games decide to go out Call of Duty: Vanguard, and introduce it to the Battle Royale we loved so much. It was from this precise moment that everything went to shreds. When Vanguard was implemented, the cheaters were more present and stronger than ever, the bugs, I’m not even talking about them, the game meta which changed again, and our favorite weapons which then became completely broken. In short, enough to rage behind my screen.

But what idea of wanting to introduce, in a Battle Royale which initially found its events in our time, a “story” dealing with the Second World War? And what a mistake to permanently delete the city of Verdansk to only offer that of Caldera. I’m not saying, change is always a little good, but when we spend a few games on the island of the Pacific, we miss Verdansk relatively quickly. I sincerely think that Raven Software should have left the players the possibility of playing on this or that map.

Sleep tall events

Now let’s talk about Warzone events… The first real event we had in Battle Royale was the official reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. On the program, we had the right to an event taking place at the stadium, and I must admit that the staging was really well constructed.

Afterwards, things got a little more complicated. Certainly we had fun Halloween events, but that’s the problem, it’s nice and then it stops there. Apart from zombies running after us, and paid packs, we didn’t have much to eat.

It’s much the same with the Christmas event, with the Krampus picking players as targets and chasing them around the town of Verdansk…

But if I had to elect the WORST EVENT EVER of Call of Duty: Warzone, I will not without difficulty choose Operation Monarchwhich is still currently available in the game. If I found the trailer rather successful, once in the game it’s totally different, unfortunately.

Already, the look of King Kong and Godzilla is worthy of 2010s graphics, and in reality, almost NOTHING happens during our games. While the BA announced an epic fight between the two creatures, once we’re in play they just attack us once in a while, and that’s it. It’s really a shame because the players looked hyped when Operation Monarch was announced, but again, it was a cold shower.

Because of this, I don’t expect much from Warzone anymore and I’m really looking forward to discovering Call of Duty: Warzone 2. As the days pass, we discover new leaks, and the more we discover, the more it makes me want to play it. Nevertheless, I will try not to be too optimistic because a disappointment came so quickly. I’m not saying, I still like Warzone and I have very good memories of it, and it’s always good to play it from time to time…

A few days ago, Call of Duty: Warzone players faced a new glitch that once again affected the infamous Battle Royale gas mask. Following numerous player complaints, the developers at Raven Software have finally spoken up.
