After a long Corona break, the musicals are returning: In autumn fans can enjoy “Wicked”, “The Lion King” and more live again.

Musical fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. As the production company “Stage Entertainment” announced on Thursday (July 8th), it will reopen the doors of its theaters in Hamburg, Stuttgart and Berlin after the forced Corona break. The audience is expecting four premieres from next September: “Wicked”, “Dance of the Vampires”, “The Ice Queen” and “Ku’damm 56”.

The musical “Wicked” about the friendship of two dissimilar witches will kick off on September 5th in the Stage Theater Neue Flora in Hamburg. Until the end of November 2021, there are other shows across Germany, such as “Blue Man Group” in Berlin or “Aladdin” in Stuttgart.

“At last our visitors can experience the special magic that only the live theater experience can unleash”, says Stage Entertainment managing director Uschi Neuss happily. The corona pandemic has had a particularly severe impact on the cultural sector in the past year and a half, the message says. Many theater employees, actors and musicians had to go on short-time work.

The anticipation that the curtain will be opened again is all the greater. “Stage Entertainment” is counting on the successive reopening of its theaters in order to be able to implement the operational measures caused by the pandemic, theater by theater.
