The profile of Dahbia B., indicted for the savage murder and rape of 12-year-old Lola, takes shape over the days. Since the discovery of the body of the schoolgirl in a trunk at the foot of her residence in the 19th arrondissement of Paris and the arrest of the suspect, the investigators have been trying to find out the reasons which led her to commit such an act, leaving France completely in shock. If for the moment, Dahbia details what she allegedly did to Lola without explaining the motivations for her action, Hakim – his first name has been changed -, a former neighbor of the family, testified to the Parisian.
Hakim knew Mounia and her daughters well, including Dahbia, whom he considered his niece. Hakim was “family friend“, always present in the hard knocks to lend a hand. He lived for a long time in a neighboring apartment in the town of Champigny-sur-Marne before the mother and her daughters moved. In Bry-sur-Marne, a another neighbor revealed that the happiness was short-lived: “I arrived in the building in 2017 and the family was already there. […] At first there were no problems. But when the mother died, it was no longer the same. I heard bursts of voices that I hadn’t heard before. The two sisters shouted at each other. I am convinced that the young woman freaked out when her mother died.“
As Hakim says, Mounia was devoted to her daughters and ready to do anything to make it through: “You know, his mother was a good woman. She watched her daughters. If one of them came home late, she would ask him for an explanation. She sacrificed herself for the education of her kids.” Hospitalized for cancer, Mounia dies in Dahbia’s arms.
It was at this precise moment that the fate of the young woman would have changed according to several acquaintances. Unable to pay the rent for the apartment, the sisters are thrown out: “They made their own lives on their own. Dahbia, I saw her less and less“continues Hakim. If the eldest made it out, this was not the case for Dahbia despite the help of her sister. The 24-year-old young woman reportedly told investigators that she was staying at her place, even where Lola’s murder was allegedly committed.
