Carl Pei’s brand could launch brand new listenersdesigned for a target very different from that of these previous tests.
Nothing mainly made the event this year with the Nothing Phone, its first Android smartphone, but the brand first made a name for itself with the Nothing Ear (1), completely transparent true-wireless earphones.
Nothing prepares the launch of a new brand
Just a few weeks ago, Nothing offered a new product in its nascent range with the Nothing Ear (stick), headphones closer to Apple’s AirPods and abandoning the in-ear format for a more open design.
We were therefore now waiting for the first information on the next Nothing headphones to be released in the coming months, but Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus and CEO of the young brand, would have another plan in mind: the creation of a new brand, like Redmi for Xiaomi today.
Headphones in a very different format to reach a wider audience
According to several informants, Nothing is in the process of developing new headphones called “Particles by XO”. Impossible at this stage to know if XO will be the name of this brand and “Particles”, the name of its new products.
Still rumored, Nothing would abandon its design signature for these products, namely a transparent plastic body, for a more original and equally identifiable format. The headphones would indeed be shaped like beans. The storage and charging box could look more like a compact than the format expected for this type of case.

With the “Particles by XO”, Nothing would aim to address a trendier clientele, such as influencers or the youngest, than these current headphones, with a more ” geek whose spirit could put off.
Traces of the firmware, found on the Nothing site, suggest that these headphones would benefit from an active noise reduction system as well as support for the LHDC codec for listening to high definition songs.
For the time being, no indication of the launch date or the price of its new headphones has been given. We will therefore have to wait until 2023 to find out more about these possible new headphones.
