Oppo could finally leave the national territory. In any case, this is what a certain number of employees suggest.

The Chinese manufacturer only entered the European market very late, in 2018. However, this did not prevent it from quickly conquering a large audience, even to the point of becoming the fifth largest seller in the Old Continent at the end of last year.

The rumor that finally takes shape?

Less than two months ago, a rumor had agitated the web: Oppo had decided to leave several major European markets, first and foremost Germany and France. A departure in the form of a “quiet quitting”, the Chinese brand leaving, according to information at the time, on tiptoe, by no longer marketing new models.

We left it there, without further news, until today. Because the hypothesis has just been reactivated by the media Frandroid, for whom this departure seems to be becoming more and more precise. In support of this observation, the French media quotes several store employees reporting activity at half mast.

The path stops for Oppo in France?

New models? What new models?

More precisely, according to the employees interviewed by Frandroid, the management would no longer train its salespeople on the brand’s latest phones, such as the Find X, the Reno or the Find N2 Flip. A rather revealing silence according to these people, who asked to remain anonymous. ” We understood that they were going to stop, because we were no longer trained on new products “says one of them.

This departure would even already have a first date: June 30. This would be when Oppo’s subcontractor, Atmospheres, which provided the sales staff, would see its contract with the Chinese giant come to an end. And in the worst way, since this end of collaboration would be accompanied by the non-payment of pending invoices, the amount of which would amount to 2.74 million euros. So, at the beginning of July, what will remain of Oppo’s presence in France?
