Mourning for William “Poogie” Hart: The singer of the soul band The Delfonics died at the age of 77.
The music world mourns the loss of one of its talented singers: William “Poogie” Hart (1945-2022), co-founder and singer of the soul band The Delfonics, is dead. The musician died in Philadelphia on July 14 at the age of 77. His son Hadi has that the US celebrity portal “TMZ” confirmed.
Accordingly, Hart was taken to a hospital after breathing difficulties and operated on there. However, complications arose during the operation. Hart died as a result of the operation.
The greatest successes of The Delfonics
William Hart was born in Washington, DC in 1945 and began forming a band called The Orphonics with his brother Wilbert Hart in the 1960s. The group was later renamed The Delfonics. In addition to the two Hart brothers, Randy Cain (1946-2009) and Major Harris (1947-2012) also belonged to the soul band, which is still considered an important representative of the Philly sound today.
Her most famous song titles include “La-La (Means I Love You)” (1968) and “Didn’t I Blow Your Mind This Time” (1969). The latter became a hit in the early 1970s and won a Grammy. Both songs can also be heard in Quentin Tarantino’s (59) crime film “Jackie Brown” (1997).
