Bobbie Nelson, Willie Nelson’s sister, is dead. The musician died at the age of 91.

Willie Nelson (88) mourns the loss of his sister Bobbie Lee Nelson (1931-2022). She passed away at the age of 91, her family said in a statement, which the country legend published on Instagram, among other places.

Among other things, it says that Bobbie Nelson died peacefully and surrounded by her family. And further: “Her elegance, grace, beauty and talent made this world a better place.” The deceased was the first member of Nelson’s band.

She was his “little sister”

The two performed together for more than 50 years. Even though the pianist was older than the singer, he often called her “little sister” on stage, reports the industry magazine “Deadline”. The hearts of the bereaved are broken, the family misses Bobbie deeply, Instagram continues. “But we are so lucky to have had her in our lives.”

Numerous fans expressed their condolences in the comments. Actress Rita Wilson (65) wrote: “I’m so sorry to hear this.” Sending her love and prayers.
