Users of Windows 11following the update of your operating system in version 22H2, it is quite possible that a bug prevents you from removing your peripherals in complete safety.
While Windows 11 will be able to automatically connect to your smartphone’s Wi-Fi, the latest version of the operating system appears to be facing a bug that has not yet been fixed by Microsoft.
Windows 11: full of updates, but…
The last few months have been particularly rich in news on the Microsoft side, and in particular with regard to Windows 11. After upgrading to version 22H2 at the end of September, the famous operating system has took advantage of the month of October to offer a brand new update soberly called “Moment 1”. Among the novelties brought by the latter, we find the long-awaited tabs of the file explorer or the support for Android applications via the Amazon App Store.
While many interesting features have recently arrived, some users seem to be encountering an issue preventing the safe removal of their devices. Stranger still, the bug would only occur when the task manager was running…
A device problem on Windows 11 22H2
As you probably know, Windows operating systems have had a feature for many years now that allows you to securely remove hardware connected to your computer. If Windows 11 also offers this possibility, the 2022 update seems to have disrupted its proper functioning.
As reported to us by the site Ghacks, safe removal of peripherals no longer seems possible for some Windows 11 customers… only if the task manager is playing. An error message then appears indicating that the device cannot be stopped by the operating system because of another program that is still using it (namely the task manager).
If simply closing the task manager is enough to fix the problem, this is still a relatively strange bug (although not a very bad one) and has not yet been fixed. This is because it has not yet been listed as a Windows 11 22H2 Known Issue on Microsoft’s official support page. Since we don’t know its scope, please let us know if you are one of those affected by this problem.
