Windows 11 22H2 update is causing serious issues for some users, sometimes even leading to blue screens of death. The problem appears on configurations including an Intel Rocket Lake processor, and comes from a compatibility problem with a certain driver. A simple update is enough to get rid of it.
The worries are piling up for users, a few days after the deployment of the 22H2 update for Windows 11. After the drop in performance of Nvidia graphics cards, fortunately resolved very quickly by the manufacturer, it is now the turn of holders of Intel processors to regret installing the latest version of the operating system. And for good reason: it causes blue screens of death.
It is especially the Intel Core Rocket Lake chips, the 11th generation processors of the firm, which are affected by the phenomenon. The bug is therefore reminiscent of the controversy generated by the performance problems of AMD CPUs when Windows 11 was deployed last year, although the latter is now taking on a whole new dimension.
How to Fix Blue Screens of Death after Windows 11 22H2 Update
Good news, however: unlike the compatibility issue with AMD processors, there is no need to wait for another update to solve this problem. To do this, you must first understand the cause of these blue screens of death. According to Microsoft, these are due to a compatibility issue with certain Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) drivers, which help Rocket Lake processors work properly.

Specifically, these are the IntcAudioBus.sys drivers, version 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152. To start, you must therefore check that your PC includes Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST), which is not necessarily the case for all PCs equipped with a Rocket Lake CPU. To do this, go to the Device Manager and look for Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) in the section Audio, video and game controller.
If the driver is on your PC, you just need to update it to solve all your problems (or almost). To do this, right-click on the driver then click on Update Driver. You can also go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Show optional updates.
