Windows 11 still holds many construction sites for Microsoft. The manufacturer is now reacting to feedback and bringing old functions back into the new right-click menu.

Even if Windows 11 has been out for a few months, that doesn’t mean the product is really ready. Microsoft is constantly working on this and is responding to user feedback. One of the building sites that the Redmond-based company is devoting itself to in an upcoming update is the new right-click menu.
As WindowsLatest reports, Windows 11’s right-click menu is said to be faster and easier to use. The range of functions has been reduced to the essentials. This does not go down well with all users and some complain about performance weaknesses compared to the predecessor.
Microsoft responds to feedback with very small steps
In a new version, which is available for participants in the Insider program, Microsoft is addressing the feedback. This includes bug fixes that prevent crashes when right-clicking on Windows Explorer elements. But some functions also return to the menu:
- Fonts and certificates can be installed again with a right click.
- Network folders can be added or removed with a right click.
- Network connections can be disconnected by right-clicking on the network.
However, there are no plans for a rollout anytime soon. The innovations in version 22518 are currently being tested in the development channel of the Insider program. A broader availability could take place with the function update in autumn 2022. But this also means that further improvements can be made.
