Windows 11 will make two-factor authentication faster

Good news for Windows 11 customers: Microsoft will soon roll out a new feature regarding two-factor authentication.

While Windows 11 might hold a nasty surprise for people who don’t have the system requirements to install it, the two-factor authentication system promises better news.

Two-factor authentication: security made easy

These days, most platforms offer a two-factor identification system. The latter provides additional security to users by imposing a second step in the authentication process. If, for example, a third party takes your password and 2FA has been activated beforehand, this person will be unable to carry out their intentions. This process therefore makes it much more complex for other people to access your accounts and thus strengthens your security.

On Windows 11, customers can of course install various authenticator apps. As an example, Microsoft Authenticator allows one-time codes to be generated, although there are other methods. Well, know that soon, the system will benefit from a very nice little novelty within Windows 11.

2FA gets easier in Windows 11

The website Ghacks recently shared a rather interesting piece of information about Windows 11. The operating system is now able (in developer version 25252) to detect an identification code without you needing to copy it manually. To do this, it extracts the code from the application from which it was sent (Mail, for example) and then takes care of displaying it as a notification. By simply clicking on the latter, the code is then automatically copied to the Windows clipboard. Convenient, isn’t it?

As basic as it seems, adding this little button should, of course, make the authentication process relatively simple (in addition to saving you a little time). If we still don’t know when it will appear in the stable version of Windows 11, it should logically land in a future update in 2023.
