Far too fast – motorcyclists race across Tyrol’s roads

A weekend with wonderful weather naturally makes many motorcyclists want to go on a trip. Unfortunately, the speed limit is often completely ignored. Just like in these two cases on Saturday in Tyrol.

Not only at higher speeds, but also at far too high speeds, two speeders on bikes were caught by the traffic police. At 1 p.m. on Wildschönauer Straße (L3) (Kufstein district) a biker (23) was driving at an unbelievable 147 km/h – with a permitted speed of 70 km/h. This results in a speed limit of 77 km/h. The driver’s license was immediately taken away. 105 km/h too fast. Almost an hour later, at 1:53 p.m., the next speeder: This time a 32-year-old was driving on the Tiroler Straße (B171) in the municipality of Buch at 165 km/h – instead of the permitted 60 km/h. But that wasn’t enough: He then accelerated his motorcycle and drove 198 km/h (100 km/h would have been allowed). Once 105 km/h and once 98 km/h too fast: the driver’s license was taken away and the motorcycle was temporarily confiscated.
