Microsoft announces that it has released Windows 11 Preview Build 25987 update on the Canary channel of the Insider program. There are many new features for developers, but the majority of users will be happy to learn that the Redmond firm has found a way to reduce the burden of installing its operating system by sacrificing two software previously installed by default. Microsoft has decided to remove Maps and Movies and TV default apps when you do a fresh install of Windows 11. Why such a decision ? The argument of saving space will quickly be dismantled, since by going to the settings, we see that Maps and Films and TV only weigh 16.9 MB and 13.7 MB. If you are one of the few fans of these programs, please note that you will be able to find them on the Microsoft Store, after a “fresh” installation of the OS.
Windows 11 will no longer preinstall these two applications that no one uses
This is not the only new feature offered in Windows 11 Build 25987. From now on, during a first installation of Windows 11the suite of instruction screens, the Out-of-Box Experience or OOBE, will offer usersinstall pre-downloaded drivers if there is no internet connection available. In addition, Microsoft now offers a new Delivery Optimization screenaccessible by going to Windows Update > Advanced Options > Delivery Optimization. This feature helps “download updates from Windows, Microsoft Store, and other Microsoft products quickly and reliably.”
File Explorer gets something new which will please those who frequently manipulate images. It will be possible for them to “display and edit metadata of PNG files, if they want, for example, to set a star rating, change the description or add keywords. Let’s add that Microsoft is making an essential change to its application store.
