Microsoft should soon deploy a new version of its “Screen Capture” tool
This new version will include a “video” function. We explain to you.

For some years now, Windows has had a native tool allowing the user to quickly take a screenshot. Its name: “Screen capture”, quite simply. Indeed, rather than going through the “Print Screen” key, the tool allows you to make a freehand selection on the image currently displayed on the screen, before immediately transforming it into JPEG.
However, if Windows has a tool to quickly perform screenshots, unlike macOS, it is impossible to make any video capture without having to go through third-party software. But that will soon change.
One last bug squashing before a general rollout
Indeed, last October, Microsoft announced the forthcoming availability of new tools, including a feature integrated into Windows, allowing video recording. It will be a video capture tool directly integrated into the OS, therefore, the availability of which seems closer than ever.
Some members of the program Windows Insider have recently had access to a new quest, which allows anyone who wishes to test this future functionality. In all likelihood, Microsoft would therefore be finalizing this new option, before a general deployment to the general public.
The operation is identical to that of the classic screen capture, and the user will only have to select a portion of his screen, before clicking on a button to start recording, and clicking again on this same button to put an end to it.
At present, however, it is impossible to know what the video quality offered by this new tool, the format offered or the maximum duration of video captures will be. Still, the latter should make life easier for Windows 11 users, who will finally be able to make video clips easily and safely.
