Winter holidays: here are 5 activities to do with the family in Paris

From Friday February 18 to Sunday March 6, 2022, children schooled in zone C (on which Paris depends) will be on vacation. A good opportunity to organize family activities, whether at the museum, the cinema or even on the farm. Here’s a roundup of our favorite activities.

A special kids workshop in Beaubourg (from 4 years old)

After JR, Claude Closky, Françoise Pétrovitch or even Yaacov Agam, it is the turn of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to be invited by the Center Pompidou to design an exhibition-workshop dedicated to children from 4 years old. “In my childhood drawings, I summed up or condensed my emotions with signs or symbols: sadness with a rainy cloud, reward with a crown, gift with a hand, thus creating a language of universal signs (…) Thinking of the Children’s Gallery, the idea came to me of staging an installation of a world of signs for the people of tomorrow who are the children of today. The exhibition − workshop “The People of Tomorrow” offers nine activities designed by the artist around these notions and this imagination, until May 9.

Galerie des enfants – Center Pompidou, Paris (4th), from Sept. 25, 2021 to May 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 7 p.m., every day except Tuesdays (free, reservation recommended).

A cooking class at Eataly (from 4 years old)

Tomato sauce, mozzarella, Parma ham, basil or even goat cheese and honey… All tastes are allowed for the homemade pizzas. And who hasn’t dreamed of getting their hands dirty? Eataly offers cooking workshops to help your child discover, accompanied by a chef, the pleasure of making their own pizza. He will have to prepare the dough, choose its ingredients, and will be able to follow all the steps of the real Italian recipe.

On February 26, the party continues and the little pizza chef course takes on the colors of Carnival. It will exceptionally last 3 hours (from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and will offer a Carnival Mask decoration workshop, the Little Pizza Chef course, as well as the story of a Carnival account by the host of the YouTube channel “Stories and Rhymes for Children “. Note that parents do not need to reserve a place, and can leave their children during lessons if they are over 8 years old.

pizza workshops, duration of the lesson: 1h30, 37 Rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie, Paris (4th), €35.

To do so, you will have to solve the clues and mysteries along the way. A great way to discover the Marais, its history, its heritage and above all its secrets. Of course, your guide will be able to give you a little help if you are lost or stuck. At the start, you will have a map, a tablet and a book as well as your laptop to be joined by your guide if necessary.

Escape Game “The secrets of the Marais”, 1h30, Saint-Paul metro (Paris 4th), €72 for 2 to 6 people.

A trip to the farm (from 3 years old)

Going green never hurts. Good news: the Gally farms are once again welcoming families for workshops or an outdoor visit to the farmyard and animal meadows in Seine-Saint-Denis.

Toddlers from 3 to 12 years old can for example take advantage of the bread workshop, and go home with their bread to bake. Those aged 5 to 12 can operate the grugette and the press before making their own apple juice. Butter and recycled paper workshops are also organised.

Beyond these events, it is possible for your children to celebrate their birthday on the farm, with friends. Playful workshops and animals make them spend an unforgettable moment.

Gally’s farms114 avenue de Stalingrad, Saint-Denis (93), Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A new animated film at the cinema (from 6 years old)

From February 2, the film by Laurent Zeitoun and Theodore Ty will be in the cinema. The story is simple: “Since she was a child, Georgia Nolan has had only one ambition: to become a firefighter like her father! Alas, in New York in 1932, women were not allowed to practice this profession.

When the city’s firefighters disappear one-by-one in mysterious fires at Broadway theaters, Georgia sees a golden opportunity: she disguises herself as a man and joins the team of rookie firefighters tasked with stopping the arsonist! This is the beginning of an adventure as hilarious as it is breathtaking! A life lesson to see with the family,

Vaillante, already on the screens.
