Invited on the set of En aparté to talk about his new film this Tuesday, November 1, Nicolas Bedos was particularly moved, even annoyed, after the broadcast of a video of his father.
Images he wasn’t necessarily ready to see. On the occasion of the release of his new film, Masquerade, this Tuesday, Nicolas Bedos was received by Nathalie Lévy in the program En aparté on Canal +. As the concept of the program requires, the questions asked by the journalist are not content to remain on the surface, but on the contrary dig into the smallest corners of the guest’s life. An approach that somewhat destabilized Nicolas Bedos, when he was faced with a video of his father, Guy Bedos, who disappeared in May 2020. “You became a bit of his confidant at some point in your life?, asks Nathalie Lévy. And the director, both moved and irritated, responds: “It’s weird to be filmed being emotional, it’s a little bit obscene. You know… I miss him and with all due respect, we don’t know each other..”
As Nicolas Bedos explains, seeing images of his father, even two years later, is still just as painful. “We go on TV we are shown images that I myself do not dare to look at when I am at home“he confides before adding: “I was forced, because I was releasing a film just after he left us, to return to TV sets to talk about my film. I was pretending but in fact, it was a blast for my mother as well, when he was an old man… He was a guy who had such love for us, such charm, such presence, that we found ourselves very inconsolable, you see.“

The director also spoke about his film, Masquerade, in theaters since Tuesday, November 1. For this feature film, Nicolas Bedos collaborated with Isabelle Adjani, Marine Vacth, but also Pierre Niney, whom he has known for many years. “He’s like a little brother“, explains the director before specifying the circumstances of their meeting. “His girlfriend was my then-fiancée’s best friend, Pom“, he says, referring to actress Pom Klementieff, seen in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Today, Nicolas Bedos is enjoying happy days with a certain Pauline Desmonts, with whom he formalized his relationship in last June.
