Actually, Stromae should have performed in Basel and Geneva at the end of April. But on Tuesday, the 38-year-old Belgian announced the cancellation of 15 of his concerts in Europe. “I have to accept that unfortunately my health does not allow me to continue to come to you at the moment,” writes Stromae on social networks. “I have to listen to my limits,” the singer continues. He will now take a break and relax with his family.
The singer did not give any more details. In the past, Stromae has suffered from depression and burnout. In 2022 the artist returned to the stage after a long absence.
Cancellations during European tour
The plan was for Stromae to tour Europe with his latest album «Multitude». However, in the past two weeks he has had to cancel six concert dates. The concert organizer Opus One announced on Tuesday evening how the purchased tickets will be reimbursed as soon as possible. All three shows in Switzerland were sold out.
Stromae, whose real name is Paul Van Haver, became famous in 2009 with the song “Alors en danse”. He celebrated another success in 2013 with “Papaoutai”.
