With sonar boats – Missing pensioner (82) is still being searched for

Almost a week after the disappearance of an 82-year-old in Mittersill, the water rescue service resumed the search on Friday afternoon. Because it rained earlier in the week, tracking dogs were unable to pick up a scent. In addition, the visibility for the Salzach divers worsened. “That’s why we temporarily stopped the search,” reports Herbert Gewolf from the water rescue service

Now the emergency services are intensifying the search in the water: they use two sonar boats to check the bottom of the Salzach and, if necessary, send rescue divers down. Two other rafting boats travel along the shore at the same time. “If nothing is found, the area will be flown on Saturday and searched from the air,” says Gewolf.
