With its station capable not only of recharging it, but also of cleaning its pads, the Yeedi Mop Station created a surprise when it was released in 2021. Two years later, most manufacturers are offering similar systems, sometimes accompanied by an automatic drain of the collector as a bonus, but Yeedi obviously did not say his last word. The Chinese company has recently offered a new robot that it presents as an improved version of the Mop Station: the Floor 3 Station.

If the emptying of the collector remains the responsibility of the user with the latest addition from Yeedi, the mops washing system, still two in number, is being improved. To speed up their drying and further limit the appearance of bacteria and odors, the Floor 3 Station will blow hot air. It is also adorned with slightly larger water tanks, the capacity increasing from 3.5 liters on the Mop Station to 4 liters.

Improvements for the station, but also for the robot

On the robot side, several new features are also worth noting, starting with the integration of a laser rangefinder for navigation. It replaces the Mop Station camera and takes place on the front rather than on top, as is often the case on robot vacuum cleaners. Yeedi thus limits the height of his to 8.4 cm, which allows his latest child to sneak under furniture a little more easily. Thus positioned, the laser rangefinder can also help detect relatively small obstacles, which others can only locate with the help of additional sensors; however, it requires the Floor 3 Station to turn on itself to map a room, while a rangefinder surmounting the cover can perform this gymnastics on its own and analyze the environment more quickly.

Shark had also chosen a rangefinder on the front for its RV2001WDEU, before switching to a more classic 360° rangefinder for the RV2500SEU, boasting, precisely, of faster mapping. Yeedi still promises 15 times faster mapping compared to the Mop Station camera system. Still in relation to the latter, the manufacturer announces an increased suction power, and mentions up to 5100 Pa against 2500.

The new model also gains a second side brush to fold the waste towards the main brush, then towards the 400 ml dust collector. On the mops side, the system seems identical to the previous model and still consists of two discs rotating on themselves at the back of the robot. We would have liked it to be able to raise them to vacuum carpets without soaking them when these mops are installed, but it may be for the next model. In the meantime, the Floor 3 Station is offered for sale at the recommended retail price of €799.99, and an introductory offer valid until March 30 allows you to take advantage of a discount of €100.
