If DJI is best known for its drones, stabilizers or action cameras, the Chinese manufacturer is also at the forefront of wireless transmission. This Wednesday, the company has just unveiled a new wireless microphone allowing everyone to capture sound remotely and in a rather discreet way.

The new DJI Mic 2 therefore replaces the first wireless microphone model launched in 2022. Like what Rode can offer with its Wireless Go, we are dealing here with a particularly simple system to use with one or two microphones. transmitters and a receiver. The receiver, for its part, is responsible for recording the sound independently or can be connected via Bluetooth to a compatible DJI device, and even via USB or via jack to a smartphone or a camera.

The receiver also has a 1.1-inch OLED screen as well as a precision wheel to modify sound settings such as volume or gain. It allows internal audio recording up to 32 bits with a range of up to 250 meters between the transmitter microphones and the receiver. The autonomy for its part is announced at 6 hours, with an additional 12 hours thanks to the charging case.

A transmitter with a backup track

The most interesting thing, however, remains the capabilities of the micro transmitters. DJI announces that the DJI Mic 2 transmitters are equipped with an intelligent ambient noise reduction function, particularly useful for recording clear voices in a noisy place. They also record a backup track, at -6 dB, which can be exported by the user in the event of excessive noise on the main audio track. DJI has also available its transmitters in two colors: black or white, to better blend in with users. A magnetic attachment system is also offered by DJI. The recorded audio is omnidirectional, but designed to primarily capture voices, for vlogs or interviews.

Finally, the recording from both transmitters to the receiver is automatically converted to dual channel, to separate the sounds from the two microphones.

The DJI Mic 2 has been available since Wednesday. It is available in black or white with several packs. For a single micro transmitter, it will cost 219 euros. For two transmitters, this time it will cost 349 euros.
