Last September, Xiaomi struck a major blow by unveiling its Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, the manufacturer’s first connected watch equipped with Wear OS, Google’s operating system. For a first attempt, it was a particularly successful attempt and it seems that we will not have to wait long before the firm launches a second model.

In an article published this Monday on WinFutureGerman journalist Roland Quandt shared a lot of information about Xiaomi’s next connected watch, expected under the name ” Xiaomi Watch 2 “. In short, it should be a watch largely incorporating the characteristics of the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, but with a slightly more classic look, without a fixed bezel around the screen and without a rotating crown.

Images shared by WinFuturesuggest that the watch will adopt a design quite similar to the standard version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, with a very thin bezel around the screen and two buttons on the edge. The watch is also expected to use a standard strap attachment system, with two lugs on each side.

A watch with attractive features

According to information from Roland Quandt, the future Xiaomi Watch 2 has already been seen at certain resellers. The watch would thus be equipped with a round Oled screen 1.43 inches in diameter with a display of 466 x 466 pixels. It would also feature a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip, the same as on the “Pro» with an announced autonomy of up to 65 hours. In terms of sports and health measurements, the Xiaomi Watch 2 would benefit from a heart rate sensor, blood oxygen saturation monitoring and GPS tracking.

As a reminder, the main advantage of Wear OS watches is to allow the installation of a multitude of applications. For a long time, Fossil and Ticwatch were almost the only brands to offer watches using this operating system, but have recently been joined by Samsung, Google and Xiaomi.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 is expected to be announced in Europe in the coming weeks. It should be offered in two colors, white or black, and in two variants, with or without 4 G connection. Above all, according to information fromWinfuture, the watch would be launched in Europe between 200 and 220 euros depending on the market. A price which makes it a particularly interesting alternative to the Galaxy Watch 6, launched from 319 euros – and which can now be found around 220 euros.
