Withings is the latest manufacturer to announce an increase in its prices and the brand explained it on its official website.
Targeted hikes blamed on rising costs and the semiconductor crisis
In a message, accessible at the top of the page on its online store, Withings explains that it has had to face several difficulties since 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic which caused “ a significant increase in the price of raw materials, electronic components and transport “.
For example, the French brand explains that the price of the Body Cardio connected scale microcontroller has experienced “ a 20% increase since 2020 » and transport costs have exploded with an increase of more than 200%.
Withings also cites the semiconductor crisis, which it estimates will last until at least 2023, as another factor that is pushing it today to raise the prices of some of its references.
For now, only the Body Cardio (+30 euros), Sleep Analyzer (+20 euros), BPM Connect (+30 euros) and the Withings ScanWatch 38mm connected watch (+20 euros) are concerned, and price increases will be applied from September 19.
